January 2010 - The AHA metamorphoses into the AHA The AHA is dead, long live the AHA. Indeed, what was the Aerobatic Helicopter Association is now the Association for Helicopter Aerosports, the new name being more descriptive of the AHA's new role. Traditionally covering only F3C, two new sub committees have been formed within the AHA to organise F3N and Scale competitions and while F3N is most definitely aerobatic, scale most probably isn't; hence the change of name.
Competition Secretary for Scale is Denis Stretton, Rob Turnbull is the man for F3N. Keep an eye on the AHA site for more details and events. Looks like 2010 will be a hotbed of helicopters with Craig Simmon's 3DX Event in May and the 3D Championship later in the year. And Park Hall are probably running Scale and 3D events again so plenty to look forward to for helicopter enthusiasts. The starting point for most will be the Spring Charmouth event, organised by the AHA again and this year to be held March 27-28.
